Junk Food
Some foods are called ‘junk
foods’ because they contain a lot of fat, sugar, or salt,
and little protein or starch. This is
unhealthy. Junk foods include many
popular foods that are quick to make (fast foods like pizza, chips, fizzy drinks) and taste really good.
Unbalanced Food
Junk food is unhealthy
because it is not balanced food. You get
more fat and sugar than you need, which the body stores as fat (yes, too much
sugar is turned into fat). You also
don't get the vitamins you need and too much salt is bad for your heart.
Once In A While is Fine
Pizzas, burgers, fizzy
drinks, hot-dogs, chicken nuggets and other "fast foods" are fine to
eat every so often. Junk food is only bad for you if it’s the main part
of what you eat. Eating these sorts of food once or twice a week is completely
fine. However, more than this will give you an unhealthy unbalanced diet.
